Samsung logoThis year, Samsung tried to reverse the trend of declining share by putting design at the forefront of its products and showing that even a mid-range phone can look good. And just like that, the chief designer decided to show what a high-end phone from Samsung looks like in 2015 and replaced plastic with aluminum and glass. But it turns out that even such big changes could not convince people to prefer Samsung over manufacturers such as HTC or Xiaomi, which in a few years managed to shoot their cheap mobile phones into the Top 5 in terms of world market share.

This was indicated by the statistics of the agency TrendForce, which showed that the company's share fell below one quarter, and the company now controls 24,6% of the market. At the same time, the agency lowered its sales expectations Galaxy S6, where it originally estimated that by the end of 2015, Samsung will manage to sell 50 million units Galaxy S6, but due to the early release of models Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 on the market lowered its expectations to 40 million. On the other hand, Samsung is not the only one to see its global market share drop, and Apple's share also dropped to 13,7%. On the other hand, both companies are still in the top position. The top 3 in this case is rounded off by Huawei, whose share grew from last year's 7,5% to today's 8,4%. For comparison, Apple a year ago it had a 15,4% share and Samsung a 26,7% share.

However, it is interesting to note that low-end Samsung phones have started to gain popularity again. And it's no wonder when I had the opportunity to test it a few days ago Galaxy J5, I was pleasantly surprised by what a mobile phone under €200 can do.
