Samsung logoSamsung, or rather its consumer electronics division, has not had it easy at all in the last two years. The company announced a drop in profit and sales of its products every quarter and tried to reverse this trend in all sorts of ways. Among other things, it also changed the chief designer of mobile devices, and we can see the result of this change this year, when the company released an aluminum mid-range, glass Galaxy S6 and flexible displays in the most premium models.

The change seems to have paid off, as Samsung just reported its first profit after seven quarters of continuous decline. Basically, this happened for the first time in a long time Galaxy S4, since last year's Galaxy The S5 was not as successful as expected. Finally, Samsung announces that its sales amounted to 45,6 billion dollars, of which it has 6,42 billion in net profit. For comparison, last year Samsung had a profit of only 3,7 billion, but the sales amounted to 41,7 billion dollars. It also saw a quarterly increase of 6%, with its semiconductor and display business contributing significantly.

That boosted profit by $440 million, while smartphones earned $2,1 billion. It will definitely please, especially if we consider that last year Samsung made only 1,54 billion dollars this way. The premium design really paid off for Samsung. The company has confirmed that it has seen significant growth in the market, thanks primarily to mobile phones Galaxy Notes 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, and series Galaxy A a Galaxy J. It was also helped by the reduction in the prices of the models Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. The company also expects its handsets to do as well in the run-up to Christmas as it did this quarter, and probably better. However, he takes into account that the competition may be stronger this quarter. Therefore, Samsung will prefer to focus on maintaining profits at the current level.
