gear2-iconApple and Samsung announced financial results for the past quarter this week, and both did interesting things. While Apple broke a personal record, Samsung announced its first profit for a change. Both companies were happy to share how their smartphones fared, but practically did not mention smart at allwatch. However, a smart watch is nevertheless an interesting piece of electronics that looks valuable and ensures that you are not pulling out your phone every few seconds only to find out that someone has sent you a smiley face on Facebook.

But how are they doing in the market? Since the companies didn't disclose sales numbers at all, Strategy Analytics had to look, and it announced that in the third quarter, which ran from July/July to September/September, Samsung sold 600 smartwatches (000% of the market). Considering that he was selling older hardware by his standards, he did really well. But it's not too much. Namely, they placed first Apple Watch, of which Apple sold 4,5 million watches (73%). The situation may, of course, change with the release of the Gear S2 watch in the coming quarters, as the latest watch features an attractive design and intuitive controls that are both interesting and enjoyable. Overall, however, manufacturers sold 6,1 million watches in the last quarter, a 6-fold increase over last year.
