samsung_display_4KSamsung this week shut down work at one of its most important LCD display factories to better focus on producing panels using more advanced technology. The L5 factory line has been in operation since 2002 and during that time has produced hundreds of millions of panels for various monitors, all-in-one computers, laptops and other devices that have an LCD display. Currently, the company has already started selling the factory's equipment to other companies, while its price is estimated at tens of millions of dollars.

At the same time, this is the second major event in the Cheonan area, where a year ago Samsung already sold the 4th generation production line to the Chinese company Truly. We do not yet know who will buy the equipment for the production of 5th generation LCD displays from Samsung, but it is clear that when Samsung gets rid of the old equipment, it will probably place in the factory the machines used for the production of more modern OLED displays, which it will produce for itself and its customers exactly as she did with LCD displays. Samsung currently manufactures its OLED displays on the A1, A2 and A3 lines.
