The Samsung Gear S2 went on sale just a few weeks ago, and the company has already released the first major software update, which brought a lot of news. It is interesting that Samsung did not mention the details of the update anywhere, and only a user of the XDA forum under the pseudonym drew attention to the big changes supersoulfly, who published his findings and presented several new features found in the watch. All this, of course, with some bug fixes that are part of practically every update. The update was released today in South Korea, but as usual, it will gradually be available in other parts of the world, including our market.
And what updates did the update bring? When you spin the bezel on the "locked" screen, you'll come across a (+) button. This button has been there since the first version of the system, but after the new one there is an explanation Add widget under it for a better understanding of what the plus is for. Other news include:
- Automatic opening of applications – Optional feature. If you activate it, the applications in the menu will open automatically after you land on them while rotating the bezel. By the way, you can open applications directly by clicking on the name, there is no need to click on the icon
- If the watch loses contact with the phone, it vibrates, almost like previous models. Again, this is an optional feature
- You can choose the time after which the display turns off - 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes
- New apps: World Time, Starbucks, Navigation (South Korea), Flipboard News
- New dials: Some of the dials that were presented during the announcement of the watch
- Alert indicator: If you have notifications set to not turn on the watch display, an orange circle will appear on the watch face to notify you of new notifications
- Large text: If you double-tap the notification, the text will be enlarged for better readability. At the bottom of the notification there is a trash can icon to delete the notification
- New 'Reply to Message' symbol: Until now, there was a smiley. Samsung replaced it with a traditional icon
- Possibility to create your own watch faces: It is located on the far right of the watch faces menu.
