Wireless connection for printers is not a revolutionary innovation these days, but rather a pleasant way to speed up your work. What is definitely pleasing is the fact that the technology is now also available in cheaper models, such as the Samsung Xpress M2070W, which we acquired in the past few days. Anyway, regardless of the model, the ability to connect the printer to a home or business wireless network is very good and ensures that when you want to print something, you don't have to worry about having to connect a USB cable to your computer or not being able to print things from your phone/tablet.
But from now on it is no longer a problem, just follow the instructions on how to connect the printer to WiFi. I would also like to remind you that this particular model does not have a connector for an Internet cable. The hole is there, but it's covered by a plastic door, and when you remove it, all you see is a vacuum. It therefore depends directly on the wireless connection, which you can set up relatively simply. I'll just remind you that we use a Western Digital MyNet N750 router in the editorial office, so the initial steps may differ depending on your model.
- Open it internet browser and go to your router address. It is usually one of the following:
- 192.168.0.0
- 192.168.0.1
- 192.168.1.0
- 192.168.1.1
- Log in with the help of login data. Unless you set something else, then the login name should be admin and password Password. If you are unable to log in under these details, search for information on your WiFi router via Google or in the manual that came with it.
- Go to the section Add a WiFi Device (or similarly named)
- Activate the option Connect using WPS
- Turn on the printer. If you have it on, press it WPS button on its control panel.
- Now just wait for the pair to join each other, which the computer will inform you about
- Done!
Now the printer will appear in the available menu if you have the driver installed. If you use a Mac, the printer is ready to print immediately. With scanning it is a little more difficult, there you have to wait for the installation of the appropriate driver. When you want to print a new document, simply select a printer from the available menu. The same applies to mobile devices, where your printer will appear automatically if you are connected to the same WiFi network.
