Samsung logoIn the past few days, Samsung announced that its mobile division will have a new director, which will be Dongjin Koh. He should replace the current boss JK Shin, who is not leaving the company for good, as he will continue to figure in the company's senior management. Until now, Dongjin was the director of the team responsible for research and development of mobile devices, and thus played an important role in the development of phones such as Galaxy Note 5 or Galaxy S6 edge.

But why did Samsung change the head of the mobile division? The answer probably lies in how the situation in the mobile market is developing. There, Samsung has to face Apple in the high-end sphere, while it is attacked from below by Chinese manufacturers who are gaining in popularity more than ever before. Koh is aware of this and stated at the press conference that the company does not expect any major changes in this regard during 2016. He also added that next year will be very difficult for Samsung - but he does not believe that the company is in big trouble.
