We don't like to remember the misfortune that occurred during the Romanian concert of the metalcore band Goodbye to Gravity. During the event at the Colectiv club in Bucharest, the pyrotechnics failed and the club caught fire, as a result of which many people lost their lives, but fortunately several survived. One of them is Catalin Gradinariu, a guy who was at the concert and is currently in the intensive care unit due to serious burns. It was even worse for him from a psychological point of view that he could not see his family for a long time, but in this there was a really touching surprise.
The charity Yellow Bird intervened in his life and together with doctors from the hospital's burn unit, they connected with the man and his fiancee and put them in first-person contact with their family and let them spend Christmas with them. As you probably already guessed, virtual reality played a big role in this, and not just any. They were in contact with the family thanks to Samsung Gear VR, which is a device built on Oculus Rift technology, but it does not have its own display device, you have to use it instead Galaxy S6 or other flagship. They invited the family to their favorite restaurant in Bucharest, where after a very long time they could enjoy an evening at the same table with them. According to experts, this not only allowed Catalin to see his family, but at the same time it greatly helped him psychologically, as contact with those closest to him has therapeutic effects and the patients then feel better and do not have to dope themselves so intensively with painkillers. So it looks like the world has found another way to use virtual reality!
