Samsung Android marshmallowUsers of Samsung phones often complain about worse software support, and it is more true that the South Korean company takes longer to release some updates than its competitors, among which we can find, for example, HTC or Huawei. The company then behaved very badly Galaxy The Note 4, which seemed to have been completely forgotten by the company, as some updates did not even come out for it, even though users had been waiting for them for a few months. This kind of behavior and the long waiting time for updates, which in some cases lasts even half a year, have now caused customers in the Netherlands to simply run out of patience.

Dissatisfied customers living in the Netherlands filed a lawsuit against Samsung, accusing it of negligence. They claim that the company does not provide updates for most devices in a given calendar year, nor does it inform users about when and if they should expect an update at all. The fact that users are not sufficiently informed, according to the local consumer association, worsens the reputation of the company, which today is looking for ways to maintain its position as a market leader. Affected customers are also demanding that Samsung start informing users of how long software support they have to wait for individual products and also that the company inform about serious security flaws in the system Android.

The study showed that up to 82% of Samsung devices did not receive an update during the past year and only 18% received a newer version of the system. On the other hand, it should be noted that a significant part of the 82% are low-end phones that do not have good enough hardware to receive the latest version of the operating system Android. However, Samsung wants to bring some new features here, such as a fingerprint sensor, Samsung Pay support or better cameras.
