The latest Nova Launcher in version 5.0 beta brought the so-called application shortcuts. These are small pop-up functions for compatible "apps" that allow quick access to the main functions of the given application. He introduced this feature a year ago Apple, on your iPhone 6s (3D Touch). The new Google Pixel phone already has the same "feature", only in software version, but unfortunately no other manufacturer offers these options.
However, this may change, at least temporarily. The development of the new Nova Launcher 5.0 is still in beta. So it is clear that it is still not in the app store i.e. Play Store. However, you can download it as an .apk file, thanks to which you will have software 3D Touch even on your older phone.
Also available with the new version of the Launcher is the standard Google search bar, which is already enabled by default on the home screen. However, the novelty is that it can also display a view of the current weather, which is a very useful "feature". According to available information, everything works very well.
