A few hours ago, YouTube announced full support for High Dynamic Range, or HDR, videos. This technology actually makes it possible to display a more accurate and realistic range of whites and blacks, as well as a wider range of colors. Together with 4K resolution, HDR technology is a true top-notch, it even appears in some consoles – PS4 and Xbox One.

But now YouTube is also joining HDR. You can upload 4K videos with HDR to the network and also play them. However, playback support is not very extensive. Currently, only Chromecast Ultra supports this technology. Korea's Samsung will take care of the very first TV support.

Creating such an HDR video is really very difficult and expensive. According to our information, it is recommended to use Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. Similar videos will be on YouTube like saffron, but they will be the order of the day in the future.
