Phones from Samsung are at a very good level, because they offer increased performance and great design processing. A big flaw in beauty is often the battery life. A foreign server decided to do special research on this issue, the results will blow your mind.

They have been circulating among humans for several years informace, that black wallpaper significantly increases battery life, especially with AMOLED displays. The researchers therefore decided to download several mostly black wallpapers on the Internet, which they then set on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, OnePlus 3 and Nexus 6P.

First, they set the screen brightness of the phones to a constant level of 200 nits. They then chose a mostly white wallpaper and made sure no apps were running in the background so as not to unnecessarily interfere with the experiment. 50 wallpapers were tested, each of which had a different effect on the phone's durability. Thus, both 50 white and 50 black colors were compared. Well, here we have the results in the form of a graph.

battery

Galaxy S7 Edge: battery savings with white wallpaper was about 1,2% per hour spent on the home screen. At the full black setting, the battery fared significantly better, saving 3,2%.

OnePlus 3: battery savings with white wallpaper was about 0,6% per hour spent on the home screen. At the full black setting, the battery fared significantly better, saving 4,5%.

Nexus 6P: battery savings with white wallpaper was about 1,4% per hour spent on the home screen. At the full black setting, the battery fared significantly better, saving 4,6%.

At first glance, the savings are negligible, but in some rare cases such savings could save you. All in all, if you want to increase battery life, use a black background instead.
