About three quarters of a year ago a Reddit group found out, that the official Facebook application has problems related to fast draining of the phone, namely u iOS device. Facebook, depending on these tests, released a quick update that was supposed to fix the discharge problem, but the situation did not improve much. Now it has even been found that owners of smartphones with Androidem experience exactly the same problems as the users of the competitor iOS.

Tech World Zone recently tested the Facebook app on the new Nexus 6P using Metal. This is a so-called wrapper for FB. The results showed that after a full week of removing the Facebook app from the phone, the battery lasted up to 20% more on a single charge. Furthermore, the overall performance and stability of the system itself has also been improved.

The app appears to be running in the background, even when offline. This seems to be to load content quickly when the app is opened and provide notifications.

"We have received reports from several users who are experiencing speed issues with our pro app Android. We are investigating everything carefully and will update you as often as possible. We simply want to eliminate problems..." – said a Facebook spokesperson.

Therefore, if you want to have up to 20% more battery life, we recommend that you remove the Facebook application from your phone, both from phones with Androidem, and from iPhones, respectively iOS.
