A brand new trick to hack a bank account has surfaced on the internet. So, so far no financial theft has occurred, but professional hackers have violated the Liechtenstein-Based bank's policies by stealing all customer data. Based on this data, some people were blackmailed - if the affected customers do not pay 10% of their deposits in Bitcoin, the hackers will publish the data.

The attackers got access to the data thanks to a Chinese bank based in a small European country. Customers of Valartis Bank, which is a bank in Liechtenstein, were contacted by hackers who demanded 10% of their life savings to avoid financial data being disclosed to financial authorities and the media.

"The attacker did not obtain account statement details or activity data. Affected customers have already been contacted by the bank itself, which apologized for the inconvenience" said Chief Financial Officer Fong Chi Wah. The bank also said the hackers did not steal any money.

However, even so, hackers were able to steal hundreds of gigabytes of information on thousands of accounts and correspondence since October last year. The attackers want to be rewarded with Bitcoins for the "work" to avoid detection until December 7, 2016. Also interesting is the statement of the hackers, when one of them revealed that the bank will not pay for their security services. This is also the reason why they resorted to blackmail.
