Samsung has now come out with a report that points to excessive compression of the battery, which pushed out both the positive and negative layers. It is said that the overly aggressive design is behind everything. However, the battery was given work by the owners themselves, who carried the phone in their back pocket and sat on a chair.

In order for the phone to offer a thin design, the batteries had to be designed to carry as much capacity as possible without adding any thickness. Samsung was well aware of the big risk, but still the batteries went into massive production.

“The process of designing and validating a new product is a challenge for everyone. However, in this case, Samsung took a step towards the owners' own peril, and their existing testing infrastructure and design process validation failed. Very dangerous products have been, and quite possibly still are, being shipped all over the world. That one of the largest electronics companies in the world allowed this is shameful…”
