Samsung may be the first company ever to start manufacturing processors using 10nm technology. However, this does not mean that TSMC cannot prepare for future production - the Taiwanese chip manufacturer is apparently planning a completely new factory for future processors built on 5- and 3-nanometer technology.

TSMC is without a doubt the absolute leader in the production of chips for mobile phones, and it is this manufacturer that wants to bring even smaller chipsets to the market. This means that there will be far more space for other components, while the processor will still be powerful and efficient. But it's going to be some Friday before we even get to that future. After all, TSMC hasn't even unveiled its 10nm chips yet. According to leaked documents, they will start 10nm production this year, for the new one iPhone (A11 chipset). However, TSMC intends to invest an incredible 16 billion dollars in development!
