Fingerprint readers recharged smartphones the moment it Apple introduced with its iPhone 5s. Over the past four years, sensors have appeared on almost all phones, from low-end to high-end. The technology of fingerprint readers has advanced so much that they are now super-fast even on the cheapest phones, which is cool.

Unfortunately, manufacturers are trying to create phones with which you could shave your beard - in short, they are razor thin. That's why they fight for every free space, which has gone so far that fingerprint readers are almost an obstacle (see. Galaxy S8). However, new generations can come in handy because they can work through the phone's display and don't take up as much space.

A great example of this is Synaptics, which today introduced a brand new optical fingerprint sensor that is embedded inside the display, exactly 1mm deep. Thanks to this, it is possible to eliminate the hardware button completely and thus increase the display of the phone itself, as Samsung will do with the u Galaxy S8. If the Korean manufacturer agrees with Synaptics, we could find this reader in the new flagship from Samsung.
