Nova Launcher has been with us for five years now, and to celebrate this great number, the developers have decided to release a new version 5.0. And we finally know what news it offers.

One of the developers, Cliff Wade, has published brief notes on his official Google Plus profile about the new changes in version 5.0. One of the main functions is the Pixel Launcher-style search - a special cross-application search engine can be opened with a simple swipe. Another great new feature is the so-called search views. These are actually tabs where you can find a list of recent, new or updated applications. There is also support for Android 7.1 Nougat, efficient quick application shortcuts, time interval (new method for locking the display), and more. Some of these features have already been made available by the developers in their beta versions of Nova Launcher.

Wade states that it can take several hours for the new update to even reach you. But this is quite a normal phenomenon of Google Play. If you want a lot more features, the Nova Launcher Prime version will cost you $4,99.
