The biggest and only new add-on for Android Wear 2.0 are smartphone independent apps. Today, the company unveiled three such separate apps available for Android Wear 2.0.

One such application is Glide. Users will be able to broadcast live right from their smart watch, and can be part of the conversation by simply placing their finger on the contact shortcut on the watch face. Another application is, for example, Forsquare. The developers argue that now it will be possible to search faster and overall the performance of the entire application will improve. Users will thus spend less time on the watch.

Well, the third and last app is Lifesum. It offers users a quick way to track their daily water consumption or food consumption, again without the need to use a phone app. Google released the fourth Developer Preview version Androidu Wear 2.0 earlier this week. We will see the official launch at the beginning of 2017.
