Hackers are targeting unsuspecting users with a new type of mobile virus that spreads via a sent Word document via WhatsApp. Thanks to this, they can very easily steal sensitive ones informace and user data, including online banking and other data.

Anonymous thieves only target owners who own a device with an operating system Android. Although IBTimes did not mention exactly which systems are actually involved, malware usually works like this only on Google's system, not on iOS. Moreover, these "WhatsApp viruses" were discovered only in India, the location where low-end phones are most used.

In this case, the hackers really put in a lot of work, because the document sent looks very credible. They use two large organizations, which then convince the disabled to click on the attachment of the report. These are organizations like NDA (National Defense Academy) and NIA (National Investigation Agency).

Documents that users receive are usually in Excel, Word or PDF format. If a user unwittingly clicks on one of these files, they may suddenly lose personal data, including Internet banking and PIN codes. The Central Security Services in India immediately issued a notice to all WhatsApp users to be extremely careful.
