The South Korean manufacturer certainly does not want to be left behind, so it has prepared a completely new patent. It immediately reveals a pair of cameras, of course on the back of the phone. However, the interesting thing is that the patent was already filed in March of last year. It follows from this that we could expect a dual camera as early as u Galaxy S8.

The entire patent is titled "Digital Photographing Apparatus and Method of Operating the Same" and discloses a pair of cameras. One of the cameras is wide-angle, while the other is in the form of a telephoto lens for capturing moving scenes.

For example, if you want to take a photo of a street scene and a cyclist passes by, a telephoto lens should theoretically capture it with great sharpness. The technology can also be applied to shooting videos, where the telephoto lens follows moving objects in real time, without the user having to manually focus it.

Also very interesting is the algorithm that decides with which lens the picture will actually be taken. If the speed of the captured object is higher than the specified speed, the processor will prefer the wide-angle lens. However, if the speed is slower, the processor will reach for the telephoto lens. We don't know for sure if this patent will ever be used by Samsung. Anyway, it's definitely worth a piece of attention.
