The CES2017 conference brought many innovations this year, but one of the most important is without a doubt the first Samsung gaming laptop named Odyssey. Top-notch design and above-average hardware bring unprecedented gaming experiences. The Odyssey will be available in two versions – 17.3 inches in black and 15.6 inches in black and white.

“Odyssey has been developed in collaboration with leading professional gamers in an effort to provide the greatest possible experience for game lovers of all levels,” says YoungGyoo Choi, vice president of the sales team, of the new product. "Gamers around the world today are not only looking for a box of parts, but also an ergonomic and modern device design."

In addition to the usual gaming equipment, the Odyssey has an advanced HexaFlow Vent cooling system or ergonomically curved key caps and WSAD key backlighting. In addition to HW equipment, users can also look forward to P2P communication with smart devices.

Hardware equipment

Both Odyssey configurations offer quad-core Kaby Lake series i7 processors, and 512GB SSD + 1TB HDD drives. In the larger model, we also find 64 GB DDR4 in 4 slots, in the smaller 32 GB DD4 in two slots.

We can also look forward to NVIDIA GTX 1050 GDDR5 2/4GB graphics cards (in a lower configuration). The graphics card for the 17.3 inch model has not yet been confirmed.

Both models contain the usual inputs such as USB 3.0, HDMI, LAN, in the larger configuration we can also find USB C.

Perhaps the only shortcoming is the slightly higher weight (3,79kg and 2,53kg), but this is expected for gaming laptops and is not necessarily a hindrance.

Unfortunately, the price has not yet been announced, but for enthusiasts it is possible to test both modules at CES2017, where the Odyssey was presented a few days ago.
