HTC released a really large number of phones last year, but such a "violent" strategy did not work. The company is still not doing well, at least financially, and is still in the red. However, the whole situation should improve a little in the new year. HTC is completely changing its strategy and will present fewer smartphones in 2017.
Company president Chialin Chang confirmed that the Taiwanese manufacturer will introduce only six mobile devices this year. The announcement came as the company announced the arrival of the new HTC U Ultra and U Play. By the end of the year, we can expect only five more HTC phones.
We will thus see the flagship HTC 11, the successor to the current HTC 10, and other models for the middle and lower class. The company will present the new flagship for this year already at the MWC in Barcelona.
