Samsung, the owner of SmartThings, announced on its official blog that it is discontinuing its apps for Windows Phone, starting on April 1, 2017. For many users, this will be a big blow, because the apps allowed them to control their products, if they were compatible.

Among other things, the company mentioned that the reason for canceling these apps is inability to provide the required level of updates and support for such a small platform. But this is not only a blow to the users themselves, but also to himself Windows Phone.

“Version 1.7.0 now offers feature support for Windows 10. This version will continue to work with is Windows Phone 10. However, on April 1st, version 2.017 will be available and the older 1.7.0 will be from Windows Removed from the App Store - it will not be possible to download or install it on a new device. However, we will continue to offer technical support until June 2017."

It's sad how Windows Phone is losing its market share, which was no longer who knows how big.
