Last week on Friday, the Guardian published a very interesting story that revealed a serious security issue with the WhatsApp chat app. According to several security experts, the problem lies in the use of encryption systems. This allowed third parties to spy on your personal messages that were sent through WhatsApp.

Later that day, WhatsApp itself also commented on the whole incident, saying that the error was not in encryption. The company literally shocked us with its speech when it admitted that it does everything with its own intentions. This claim was also supported by Open Whisper Systems, the creator of the encryption protocol that WhatsApp uses.

To put everything in perspective, WhatsApp is deliberately spying on the personal messages of its users, which is a violation of the Bill of Rights and Freedoms. This informace it shocked security expert Tobias Boelter, among others. He decided to upload two separate videos on YouTube showing the "backdoor" of the application.
