The South Korean manufacturer patented a completely new so-called flip case this afternoon. Compared to previous generations, it differs in its display with electronic ink, under the name E-ink. Samsung is once again trying to experiment with a low-energy approach, for displaying notifications. This special case should replace the classic cases with a window, viz. picture below.

In this patent proposal, a larger part is mainly devoted to the new integrated E-ink display. It will have only one task - to display more detailed information about notifications and more. The power supply will take place using wireless technology, directly from the phone's battery.
