Bribery often doesn't pay. The head of South Korea's biggest company, Samsung, I Chae-jong himself knows about this. According to the lawsuit, he is guilty of huge bribes that reach the border of 1 billion crowns, more precisely 926 million crowns. He tried to bribe South Korean President Park Geun-hye's confidant just to get certain bonuses.

Immediately after the publication of this incident, Samsung issued a statement in which it understandably rejects the entire accusation. According to the prosecutors, I Chae-yong decided to send a large amount of money to unnamed foundations, which are managed by the confidant Chee Son-sil herself.

The head of the South Korean giant wanted to secure government support for Samsung C&T's controversial merger with Cheil Industries, which was opposed by other owners. In the end, the whole situation was supported by the NPS pension fund. However, the chairman of the NPS fund himself, Moon Hyong-pyo, was indicted on Monday, January 16, for abuse of power and perjury.

This gentleman was already arrested in December, due to a confession in which he stated that he ordered the third largest pension fund in the world to support the already mentioned merger worth 2015 billion dollars in 8. Je-Yong was also interrogated last week, for a full 22 hours.

After all, despite all the evidence, the South Korean court decided to refuse to issue an arrest warrant for the Samsung boss. The warrant was sought by the special prosecutor's office for the Samsung chief's alleged role in the scandal that led to the temporary ouster of President Park Geun-hye. The entire investigation will therefore continue even without the need for custody.
