If the new report coming from South Korea is true, we could expect completely new mobile processors from the South Korean manufacturer as early as next year. According to reliable sources, Samsung will start manufacturing 7nm technology for its chipsets as early as early 2018.
It is very likely that the company will introduce extreme exposure to ultraviolet radiation (EUV) equipment directly in the logical process. Thanks to this, the 7nm chip will be better secured - it will offer much higher performance and better power saving.
"As early as next year, in 2018, we expect a completely new manufacturing technology that Samsung will use to manufacture its processors for all mobile devices. The South Korean company will proceed in the same way as with 14nm and 10nm technology. " stated Dr. Heo Kuk, CEO of Samsung Electronics.
