It's been a very long time since Samsung showed us a new rugged smartphone, since 2015. Yes, we're talking about Galaxy Xcover and for some reason the South Korean company decided to release new Xcovers on the market once every two years. So it can be said that this is a two-year streak.

The last Xcover model was already launched in 2015, in April to be exact. Now we could expect a completely redesigned design of the new phone. It looks like the as-yet-undisclosed version of the Xcover 4 will join the Wi-Fi Alliance, which could mean we could see it a little sooner.

An unknown Samsung phone with the number SM-G390F has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. We believe that this is the new Xcover 4, as its predecessor was labeled as SM-G388F. The only other information about this phone that we got from the Wi-Fi Alliance is the fact that the novelty will run on Androidon 7.0 Nougat. There is a very high probability that Samsung will announce the new Xcover already at MWC 2017, at the end of February.
