Try to think about it this way: You may have made a great app that many people would buy. However, there are dozens of other applications in Google Play that offer similar functions and comparable quality, all for free.
Apple Although the App Store is more selective with its selection of applications, developers face less competition. This allows them to charge more money for apps -> there is no other alternative. This is also the main reason why developers develop some applications for the operating system first iOS. A great example would be Super Mario Run. Nintendo first released this game for iOS and only now it gets to Android.
