Today, wireless charging is an integral part of Samsung's flagship models. Wireless charging debuted a few years ago, but it received full attention from Samsung only with its arrival Galaxy S6. Since then, Samsung has started to improve the technology, and the most advanced form can be found at Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, where the wireless charger also enjoys a new design.

Two years ago, a small "saucer" was used for charging, and charging with it was quite time-consuming. However, this clumsy saucer underwent a significant evolution and in a year turned into a quite nice stand. Personally, I like this shape and appearance more, because it is wider than the phone and there is no danger that your S7 will just fall on its side on the ground. Well, at least I wasn't "lucky" and I've had the S7 edge for quite a long time. I almost fell out of the stand only once, and that was only because I wanted to turn off the alarm clock.

As for charging, the charging time varies depending on the phone. Well regardless of whether you have Galaxy S7 or Edge, charging is quite fast. For example, as far as I know, charging Galaxy The S7 edge fully lasts about 2 hours, and we are talking about a battery with a capacity of 3 mAh. The regular S600 has a smaller battery, 7 mAh. I don't have personal experience, but I assume that charging could be shorter by at least half an hour.

For fast charging, a fan is hidden inside the stand. It starts spinning the moment you put the mobile on the stand and turns off only when the battery is charged to 100%. Of course, the charging status is also signaled by LEDs, blue means that charging is in progress and green is a full battery indicator. You will also see static green above the display unless you have new notifications.

The Wireless Charging Stand is available in both white and black, and I noticed that the fan on the white one is quieter. Probably because the shiny black plastic is more susceptible to heat and the electronics make the fan work harder. Also, you won't see as much dust on the white as on the black. The problem of dust collection is not helped by the shiny surface. So if I had to choose, I would prefer the white version next time. Because of the problems mentioned above and also because the cables from Samsung are white and not black. In addition, the cable is not part of the package, Samsung basically expects that you will use the charging stand in combination with the original charger that you received with the phone.

But the biggest advantage of wireless charging is the convenience that comes with it. When a person wants to charge his phone, he doesn't have to look for a cable on the ground and think about how to turn it (thank goodness USB-C is coming), but simply puts the phone on the stand and leaves it there until he needs it again. There is no need to solve anything, in short, the mobile phone is in its place and always with an increasing number of percentages. Some say that it is impractical, that the mobile phone cannot be used and charged at the same time. But I don't feel that the three-minute break due to the phone call would have affected anything. The maximum that changed was that the mobile did not have 61% but a percentage less. Even plastic, rubber or leather protective covers do not affect the reliability of charging. However, this can be a problem with cases that combine plastic with aluminum (e.g. some from Spigen).
