The South Korean company Samsung Electronics has apparently decided to put batteries with a capacity of 3 and 000 mAh in its new flagships. According to a new report from one of the investors, there will be a smaller variant Galaxy The S8 will have a 3 mAh battery, while the capacity of the larger S000 Plus model will be the same as in the Galaxy Note 7, so 3 mAh.

This information was shared directly by one of the Samsung officials who gave an interview to South Korea's News 1. He stated that the company reached the final decision when it completed a series of important security tests.

Thorough testing

Following last year's fiasco around Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has reportedly made several major changes to its battery suppliers. The Japanese company Murata Manufacturing will now be the second supplier of accumulators for Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The next supplier will of course be Samsung SDI. It is rumored that the company ATL should also be involved in the production of batteries, but we have not yet confirmed this.

In addition, Samsung began to cooperate intensively with its suppliers, when it negotiates certain conditions with them. So it follows that mass production will happen very soon. Just FYI, Samsung Galaxy The S8 and S8 Plus will be launched on April 21, 2017 in the United States.

For the time being, we do not expect any major changes, at least in terms of sales prices. Official retail price of the base model Galaxy The S8 will start at $650 (which translates to about CZK 16). You will of course pay extra for the larger Plus version, as the price will start at 500 dollars (about 750 CZK). The prices are listed without VAT and will of course be even higher in the Czech Republic.
