At one of the biggest conferences, i.e. Google I/O 2015, it was announced directly by Uber that the official application will soon also be available on smart watches with Android Wear. Today, almost two years later, the company finally made good on that promise, announcing that its service is now available on your wrist, so if you're one of the lucky few - not every smartwatch supports Android Wear 2.0.
The exclusivity of the application for the latest version of the system is very unfortunate for those who have not yet received the desired update, or even worse - those who will never receive it. However, it does mean that the app is standalone, meaning it doesn't require a mobile phone or companion app to run, and instead runs on its own.
Smartwatch version of the application offers many functions, it is possible to check prices, estimated time, browse the bookmarks of already entered destinations, location of drivers before and during the trip, and much more.
