A few days ago, colleagues from the foreign server PhoneArena started a very interesting test in which they compared battery life Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with the operating system Android Marshmallow and Nougat. After getting the final results and statistics, it was found that the new 7.0 Nougat system reduced the battery life of the phone by up to ten percent. For clarification - u Galaxy S7's endurance was lower by 9,4 percent, u Galaxy S7 Edge by 8,1 percent.

Classic version Galaxy The S7 was up and running, with the system Android 7.0 Nougat, just 6 hours, while s Androidem Marshmallow 6 hours and 37 minutes. Samsung Galaxy The S7 Edge running Nougat lasted just 6 hours and 35 minutes while running the system Android 6 Marshmallow up to 7 hours and 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, the authors of the test did not give us specific test conditions, which is somewhat misleading. Furthermore, we did not learn if the phones were on after the update Android 7.0 Nougat immediately factory reset or not. All of this can have a big impact on battery life.

For now, we don't know what exactly caused the increased battery consumption. In our opinion, behind everything should be a completely new and redesigned environment in which the color white prevails. If you applied a darker system scheme, you could return the battery life to the previous level (Marshmallow).
