Today, a brand new WikiLeaks document appeared on the Internet, which allegedly reveals in detail the hacking tools used directly by the CIA, or the United States Central Intelligence Agency. One of the tools mentioned in the documents is called "Weeping Angel". It is a specially designed tool on which the agency worked secretly with the UK's MI5.
Thanks to this tool, the CIA could very easily get directly into the systems of Samsung smart TVs. Weeping Angel then had only one task – to secretly record conversations using an internal microphone, which is equipped with almost every smart TV today.
The documents revealed that the so-called Weeping Angels allow the Samsung agency to switch TVs to a fake off mode. So it means that even with the TV turned off, the tool can record ambient sounds - conversations and so on. Perhaps the only "good" information is that this tool can only be used with some older TVs. Today's models have all the security holes fixed.
Of course, Samsung immediately responded to this news by saying:
“The privacy and security of our consumers is a top priority. We are aware of this information and are already looking for ways to resolve the whole unpleasant situation."
