A very interesting photo has appeared on the Internet depicting the section for changing the resolution in the Settings application. This feature was introduced along with the failed model Galaxy Note7, which briefly warmed up in the market last year. Thanks to it, the user can choose the resolution in which the user interface will be displayed.

Changing the resolution has an effect, for example, on the performance of the device itself and especially on the battery. In devices Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy Note7 can choose between HD (1280 x 720 px), Full HD (1920 x 1080 px) and WQHD (2560 x 1440 px) resolutions. Most users welcomed this option, as it is not necessary to have an environment in high WQHD resolution, when Full HD is more than enough for everyone. Most people will use WQHD only in the case of virtual reality.

In the leaked image, you can see the section in all its glory, and in addition to the option to choose between HD+ (1480 x 720 px) and Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 px) resolutions, you can also see the WQHD+ option, which suggests that it will have Galaxy S8 panel with a higher resolution than originally expected, namely 2960 x 1440 pixels. Elderly Galaxy The S7 and the edge variant have panels with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, i.e. WQHD.

We don't know why Samsung decided to increase the resolution on the longer side of the display. He may well want to better prepare himself for virtual reality, which has been booming lately.
