Do you have the impression that the mobile industry is stagnating and that smartphone manufacturers are only trying to artificially increase numbers year after year? You may be right. However, the real revolution should come after the unveiling of the so-called folding phone. Senior Engineer, Kim Tae-Woong, however, denied the imminent arrival of foldable phones, current phones with edge-to-edge display (bezel-free) are said to be selling very well.

"Since edge-to-edge display phones are selling well, we still have plenty of time to develop a foldable display," he declared Kim Tae-Woong at the conference Display TechSalon.

Although Samsung's technology is at a sufficient level and foldable phone already rolled out of the factory of the company of the same name, the manufacturer wants to use the time to gradually improve folding displays. According to last year's magazine information Bloomberg Samsung is planning to release two phones this year that are expected to feature a flexible display. These informace however, they are in direct conflict with current speculation that Samsung will not introduce the first foldable phone until 2019, if not later.

We don't even dare to guess how it will all turn out in the end. But the truth is that if the current flagship models are selling very well, the manufacturer can take their time introducing revolutionary technologies, and if they improve the existing technology, the customer has absolutely nothing to lose, rather the opposite.
