South Korean company Samsung has made significant progress in developing a foldable phone, according to new reports. According to TheInvestor magazine, Samsung built a prototype of the so-called Dual Screen device, which can be folded together and then unfolded at an angle of 180 degrees. Hinges will then be placed on the back between the two halves of the display, and in the open state the entire device should resemble an open book.

According to information, Samsung has currently ordered the necessary components that will be used in the production of two to three thousand folding phones. He will actively test these phones and then use all the knowledge in the design of the final form of the mythical Galaxy X. It is supposed to have only one display, which will be able to be translated in half of it. The Samsung Display division is in charge of the production of the displays themselves – the first prototypes Galaxy X will appear later this year.

Although Samsung is lenient with foldable phones and the official release date of foldable phones is unclear, speculations are clear and the first phone is expected to appear as early as 2018 and at the latest in 2019.
