Samsung established a collaboration with leading Czech photographer Herbert Slavík and created a unique exhibition of his works on modern QLED TVs. This exhibition, called HRY, takes place in the QLED gallery in Prague's Kotvo (Revoluční 655/1, Prague 1) from 18. 4. do 21. 5. 2017. Visitors can view it daily from 9.00 do 20 hours. The entrance fee to the exhibition is free.
The idea of a modern exhibition using digital screens was born in the head of Herbert Slavík many years ago. However, only now in connection with the new Samsung QLED TVs is it starting to take on a more concrete form. “I think it is the near future, with QLED TVs already present, that exhibitions and photo presentations will largely take place on the best digital, frameless panels. However, I don't mean a slideshow, but the display of one photo on one screen. The dynamism of the photos, 100% color volume, contrasts and deep black will ensure a completely different impression than what is currently offered by printed photos. Thus, when walking through the exhibition space, a person can perceive completely different emotions than before," says Herbert Slavík, saying that the first step to fulfilling his vision will be made thanks to Samsung QLED TVs at a unique exhibition of his photos capturing sports moments.
"Over the years, I have participated in 14 Olympic Games as a photographer, sport is one of the central themes that I like to photograph. Colors, light, emotions, that's what I enjoy about sports and I try to convey the exceptional atmosphere of sports venues through photographs. But not from a reportage or documentary perspective, rather from an artistic and abstract perspective. In my opinion, modern technology and dynamic sports are a perfect match, so displaying sports photos on digital screens is a logical step, “ Herbert Slavík explains the theme of the exhibition.
The perfect picture on Samsung QLED TV is provided by Quantum Dot technology, built on microscopic crystals, each of which emits a specific color. Thanks to them, the TV is able to display 100% color volume. Ultra Black technology, i.e. an anti-reflective layer that eliminates unwanted reflections, improves the perception of black and, in combination with high brightness (up to 2 nits), creates exceptional image contrast.
