Samsung officially went on sale in the Czech Republic yesterday, i.e. Friday 28 April Galaxy S8 to Galaxy S8+. Those interested could have the new Samsung flagship model at home already 8 days earlier if they pre-ordered it by 19/4, but it was only yesterday that it finally reached the counters of retailers, so customers can purchase the phone in person at the store of one of authorized dealers.

If you really liked the new product from Samsung, but you are still hesitant because you currently own it iPhone or you peek about him as well as after Galaxy S8, then we have several reasons for you to prefer the latest flagship model from Samsung over the phone with the bitten apple logo. Of course I iPhone has its advantages (iOS, great integration with other Apple products), but the following ten features/features Galaxy You won't find the S8 on any current iPhone.

1) Infinite display

Samsung refers to its display with minimal frames as infinite, and we have to admit that in combination with the black predecessor, it really looks like that. Display Galaxy The S8 looks simply great and has even been rated as a pro by experts the best smartphone display today. On the other hand iPhone has been called one of the worst smartphones in terms of screen-to-front ratio for several years. The bezels on the iPhone are simply giant and the display percentage takes up significantly less than the competition. Apple however, he is very well aware of this ailment, so this autumn he is preparing a completely redesigned phone, which should have a similarly infinite display just like Galaxy S8.

2) Curved edges

Some condemn curved edges, calling them completely pointless and claiming that they just look good. That was true a few years ago when Samsung first introduced curved display edges. Today, they can already use them and offer additional functions on the phone thanks to them. In addition, at Galaxy The S8 is curved, not only the display, but also the glass on the back, thanks to which, at first glance, the large phone is comfortable to hold even in one hand and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.

3) Iris reader

While iPhone was the first phone to feature a fingerprint reader, Samsung is a pioneer in expanding the iris reader in smartphones. He started already last summer at Galaxy Note 7, which had to be withdrawn from the market due to exploding batteries, so the real expansion of iris authentication in smartphones will be taken care of by Galaxy S8. According to the information so far, this year too iPhone it was supposed to boast an iris reader, but nothing is 100% certain yet.

4) Face recognition

If we are already talking about new security options, we must also briefly address the face recognition function, which Galaxy The S8 has The phone recognizes its owner's face through the front-facing camera, but for now it's the weakest authentication method on the phone, so it can only be used to unlock the device. AND Apple is preparing a similar feature, but its patents indicate that it should be significantly more advanced. But none yet iPhone he can't boast of anything like that.

5) Desktop Experience

With Samsungs Galaxy S8 to Galaxy The S8+ also comes with DeX (Desktop Experience), a special docking station that can turn a smartphone into a full-fledged computer after connecting a monitor, mouse and keyboard. Operating system Android v Galaxy S8 immediately turns into a desktop version after connecting to DeX, on which you can comfortably browse the Internet, work in programs from Microsoft Office and others in exactly the same way as if you were using it on Windows. In addition, you can write to messages or handle calls directly from the desktop.

Of course, it must be noted that this is a substitute for a basic computer and for professional users who work in Photoshop or cut 4K videos, for example, DeX is definitely not made. So far, it doesn't seem like it would Apple he was planning something similar, though he had recently patented a way to transform easily iPhone and iPad in notebook.

6) Bixby and Google Assistant

Samsung has decided to go its own way in the field of virtual assistants, and so with Galaxy The S8 and S8+ introduced its own Bixby assistant. She still has a lot to learn, which is why the South Koreans left a Google assistant on the phone, who, among other things, can also speak Czech. If two assistants are not enough for someone, they still have the option of installing Cortana. On the iPhone, after unpacking the phone from the box, only Siri is available, which has recently begun to lag behind its competitors. On iOS it is also possible to install other assistants, but they are very limited because Apple does not allow developers access to key components iOS.

7) Bixby Vision

One of the most interesting functions of the new assistant from Samsung is Bixby Vision, which recognizes objects, text and location data. So if by camera Galaxy point the S8 at an object, thing or even a monument, Bixby should be able to tell you what it is specifically and tell you other useful informace, which might interest you. Bixby Vision can also translate text between more than 50 languages in real time. In addition, the feature is also available for third-party developers, so the possibilities are almost endless.

8) 10nm processor

Apple is clearly the leader when it comes to smartphone processors, but Samsung has taken the lead this time. Galaxy S8 to Galaxy The S8+ are the first smartphones in the world to boast a processor manufactured using 10nm technology, whether it is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 (for US models) or the Samsung Exynos 8895. Apple it is also reportedly preparing a 10nm processor, but it will not be shown in the iPhone until September.

9) Bluetooth 5.0

Galaxy The S8 is also the first smartphone in the world to feature Bluetooth 5.0. We have detailed the benefits of the new standard in a recent article that you can read <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>. In short, it's about better range, higher speeds and, most importantly, the ability to play music on two speakers (or headphones) at the same time, creating a kind of stereo.

10) Wireless charging

Wireless charging is another feature that Apple it is still being prepared, but Samsung smartphones have had it for years, and the company has already managed to significantly improve it, specifically speed up charging. It was originally expected that Apple will wipe everyone's eyes with its wireless charging, as it would be possible to charge its phone at a distance of up to 5 meters from the pad (rather, the transmitter). But according to the latest leaked schematics, it looks like the Californian giant will play it safe and offer classic Qi charging, which is available in almost all of today's flagship models, including those from Samsung.

11) Fast charging

And finally, a function that Samsung phones have been boasting for several years, but iPhones don't have. It is not even clear if such a thing Apple plans, but if so, he will come with a cross after funuse. While the battery with a capacity of 3 mAh in Galaxy S8 + can be recharged via the supplied charger 1 hour and 42 minutes, 2900mAh battery in iPhone 7 Plus za 2 hours and 45 minutes. Of course, the owner of an iPhone can invest another 580 CZK in an iPad charger, which is more powerful. But you will get better with it in about half an hour.
