The South Korean giant has created quite a big problem. Until recently, it stated on its website and in all informational materials that inside Galaxy S8 to Galaxy The S8+ has UFS 2.1 memory. But now it has been found that the truth is completely different and Samsung is quietly rewriting the labels.

Apparently, Samsung uses two different versions of memory in its phones, namely UFS 2.1 and the older UFS 2.0, which is found in for example Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. It must be added that in everyday use the difference between these chips is negligible and the user can hardly distinguish it.

The slower chips should most likely only be found in Snapdragon versions sold in the United States, for example. The variant with the Exynost chipset is said to have faster UFS 2.1 chips. However, it was heard in the discussion forums that even some pieces with Exynos processors have a slower UFS 2.0 chip.

Despite the fact that Samsung states that the parameters of the phones may change slightly during the sale, customers should be aware of such behavior so as not to buy "rabbits in the bag". We could encounter similar behavior a few weeks ago, for example, with the Chinese company Huawei, which used significantly slower EMMC chips in some P9 and P10 models.

Samsung may have reasons for its actions. Demand Galaxy The S8 and S8+ is huge, and supplier companies simply don't have to keep up with production. To cover the supply, they may in some rare cases supply other (slower) memory chips to Samsung.
