One would say clamshell phones have had their moment of glory, but Samsung doesn't think so. That's why exactly half a year ago, he introduced the W2017, a clamshell that was powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor. However, the phone was only available for the Chinese market. However, it will soon reach another country, although it remains in Asia for now. Of course, we are talking about Samsung's homeland, that is, South Korea. The good news is that W2017 will also receive minor component updates.

The local operator disclosed the information to a foreign server theinvestor. It is not yet clear when exactly the phone will go on sale, but it should happen soon. Similarly, the price of the new product is not known, but the operator states that it will probably be a special edition, so it will not be low.

The Chinese version of the W2017 clamshell has two 4,2-inch Super AMOLED displays (internal and external) with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. There is also a Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm, which is supported by 4GB of RAM. The 64GB storage can then be expanded with a microSD card. The device also boasts a fairly decent 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1,9 aperture that is capable of shooting 4K videos, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Support for two SIM cards is a matter of course for Asian markets. In the all-metal body weighing 208 g and measuring 127,8 x 61,4 x 15,8 mm, a 2300mAh battery is hidden at the end. It can also be recharged via a fast wireless charger. And the presence of the Always On Display function, fingerprint reader and support for Samsung Pay also confirms that it is a truly top notch clamshell phone.

And what exactly should the revived model be different for South Korea? First of all, the Snapdragon 430 processor, Samsung Knox support and finally dust and water resistance.
