Samsung has been famous for many years for its large number of different smartphone models on the market. The company is simply trying to cover all the classes into which the smartphone market is conceptually divided, so that it can offer a phone to basically any customer. This, of course, entails the need to change individual models and introduce new ones every year, so that the offer is up-to-date. Last year was also in a similar spirit, so the South Korean giant sent a total of 31 new smartphones to the market, thus once again earning an absolute lead compared to other brands.

Samsung has often been criticized in recent years for having hundreds of different phones on the market. It is a bit funny that similar hyperbolizations were not so far from the truth, although they were of course exaggerated. For example, two years ago the company flooded the market with a total of 56 new phones. In the end, however, after poor financial results in 2016, Samsung went into itself and slightly trimmed, clarified and thus simplified its offer. In 2016, we saw "only" 31 new smartphones (incl Galaxy S7 and S7 edge), but even that was the most of all manufacturers.

The Chinese Lenovo climbed to the second place with 26 phones, followed by ZTE with 24 pieces and the third Chinese Huawei, which launched 22 new models, took home the potato medal. Compared to the main rival, i.e. the American one Applem, Samsung really did. The Californian giant led by Tim Cook introduced only 3 phones last year, which, by the way, was the most in the company's history. But even that was enough to place it in the top five in sales, specifically in second place behind Samsung.
