For quite some time now we know, that Samsung is preparing a durable Galaxy S8 Active. We even recently saw, how the upcoming phone will look like and that we will have to say goodbye to the infinite display this time. But it was in the same period last year Galaxy S7 Active already out and also seen in 2015 Galaxy S6 Active light of the world in early June. This year's model is already delayed.

However, the later arrival of the phone was somehow expected. After all, Samsung is now fully focused on thoroughly testing the phones and especially their batteries, so that the smartphone is really fine-tuned before launch. However, Samsung is already testing the durable version of the "es-eight" in sharp deployment, as it has now appeared in the Geekbench database.

This tells us that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, which will be accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. It goes without saying Android 7.0, on which the company built its Samsung Experience superstructure (formerly TouchWiz). Apart from the type of processor, the size of the RAM and the version of the system, Geekbench unfortunately did not tell us anything else.

But we already know that the phone will get a larger battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh, while the classic "es-eight" has "only" a 3000mAh battery. It goes without saying that IP68 dust and water resistance as well as the MIL-STD 810G military standard, when the phone is tested in extremely high and low temperatures, can withstand thermal shocks, mold, corrosion, vibrations, etc. Wireless charging will certainly not be missing either.
