Samsung is sending out a new update for the world in some markets Galaxy S8 to Galaxy S8+, which, in addition to bug fixes, also brings changes to the navigation bar with software buttons (home, back and app switcher). And we will tell you in advance that not everyone will be comfortable with the changes.

The choice of colors has been greatly reduced. First of all, it is no longer possible to choose any color from the RGB palette for the strip. And what's worst of all, you can no longer set full black as the color, which was the most ideal for the essentially infinite display, because it optically lengthened it. Not to mention that black is the most suitable for an OLED display, and black elements save your phone's battery.

The colors that are now available in the new update for the navigation bar are tuned to light shades. For now, it remains largely unknown why Samsung decided on bright colors, but a possible explanation could be that the company wants the navigation bar to stand out in all applications. Unfortunately, the default white does not go hand in hand with white in most system applications, so the color of the bar is slightly different from the rest of the environment, which does not look very good.

In addition to changes to the navigation bar settings with software buttons, the update also brings a fix for Panorama mode, in which you should now take better pictures. The update with the designation G955FXXU1AQF7 is currently only available in some countries via OTA and should probably soon also arrive on models from the Czech and Slovak markets. We will of course let you know when that happens.
