It's not that long ago that we saw you informed, that prepared Galaxy Note 8 does not boast the most revolutionary innovation – a fingerprint reader integrated in the display. But so far we only knew that although the engineers at Samsung are trying and they even have a certain form of sensor under the display ready, it is not perfect enough to be deployed for sharp use. However, it was still a mystery what exactly the problem was. But now we finally learn that the backlight of the display would suffer the most.

Concept Galaxy Note 8 with and without the reader on the back:

Samsung v Galaxy The Note 8 was understandably testing an optical sensor, while it currently uses capacitive sensors on all its phones. It is the optical sensor that has the advantage that it can detect papillary lines even through various materials - most often through glass. However, Samsung did not have a problem with fingerprint scanning during testing, but with the backlight of the display, specifically in the place where the reader was located, the display was brighter than elsewhere. And that was the main reason why the South Koreans decided not to offer the sensor in the display for the second time this year.

The same revolution is also being tried Apple and several other Chinese firms. Just Apple could become the first company in the world to offer a sensor under the display in its phone. This should happen already with the arrival of this year's iPhone, which will see the light of day in the fall of this year. But September is still a long way off, and it is also possible that Samsung will eventually pull out and Galaxy The Note 8, which will arrive in August, will have a reader integrated in the display.
