You must have heard about the fact that Samsung posted record profits in the last quarter. In three months, he managed to make a profit of 12,1 billion dollars. One would think, reading these data, that money is pouring into companies as big as Samsung is, de facto, from all sides and all countries. Therefore, it will not be so difficult to put together such an amount. However, according to the latest information, Samsung earned a full one-tenth of its earnings on the domestic market. In numbers, that means $1,2 billion in three months in a country of fifty-one million people.

Does that seem crazy to you? We will convince you otherwise. Even if the "Korean" profit is really high, it ranks rather in the worse average when compared to previous years. In 2011, the profit from the home country was more than 16%, which is not really a respectable number for one country. The share of North America then amounted to 34%, Europe then roughly 20%, China 18% and the other countries were already in the order of units. Even so, this comparison is certainly very interesting and clearly speaks of the popularity of its domestic brand among the local residents. As far as the number of inhabitants is concerned, European countries cannot match Korea at all.

Koreans still buy the same, only Samsung expands much more

However, the slight decrease in the share of sales in Korea does not mean that Samsung products are selling worse there. Quite the contrary. They are doing really great there. However, Samsung has begun to expand more and more overseas in the last few years, which has led to an increase in influence and sales around the world, and with it, higher sales. Logically, Korea cannot maintain its percentages. Another problem that pushes down the net profit from the Korean market is the tax policy there. Paradoxically, Samsung pays the biggest taxes precisely for sales in Korea, and as a result, its net profit there also drops sharply. However, the ten percent total income from the domestic market is all the more remarkable.
