You've probably heard lately about Samsung's astronomical earnings that catapulted it to the top spot this quarter. After a long time, it will surpass all its competitors, including Apple, which, according to initial assumptions, will earn about a quarter less. However, these statistics are not the only ones that Samsung will rewrite for this year. After more than 24 years, he succeeded in dethroning rival Intel from the throne for the world's largest manufacturer of semiconductor chips.

At the same time, the South Korean giant did not push itself aggressively in this sector of the market. That is, he always maintained his production standard, which was already quite high, and followed the development of the market. Thanks to this, he managed to rise to the first place at the right moment thanks to his quick reaction to the needs of the market. In addition, Intel failed to create successful chipsets for smartphones that were needed in the market, and thus cut the branch under itself.

Although the quarterly statistics do not mean much yet, they still give us a rather interesting picture of the technology industry. Analysts also conclude from them that Intel would not have to return to its throne for some time at all. Samsung is really extremely strong right now and its production plans until the end of this year speak clearly in its favor. This is mainly due to the fact that while Samsung's presence in this market sector is slowly expanding, Intel is losing on all fronts.

Abyssal differences

For a better idea, we should mention the most basic numbers. Let's start with Samsung. It earned $7,1 billion in the second quarter of this year, which is roughly $5 billion more than it did in the same period last year. In contrast, Intel made a net profit of $3,8 billion, which is a really dismal result compared to Samsung. On the other hand, it is true that such a great move, which was performed by Samsung some time ago, can easily be done by any other company. However, in Intel's case, its "limitedness" could be somewhat of a problem. Samsung's field of activity is much larger and therefore more desirable. However, it is difficult to say what the next months will bring us.
