It is common knowledge that in recent years Samsung flagships have been produced in two hardware versions. One version is purely for the US market and is powered by a Snapdragon chipset, while the rest of the world runs on an Exynos chipset. This problem is caused by patent policy in America, which simply does not allow certain things. It is probably clear to everyone that two different hardware also have different performance, even if they are in the same phone. However, that could be the end of next year.

An LTE modem with the same speed is just the beginning

They leaked to the light of the world informace, which indicate that next year the performance could be unified at least in the speed of the LTE connection. Indeed, US market chip supplier Qualcomm recently introduced a new LTE modem that supports 1,2 Gb/s speed, and it looks like it will be implementing it on its new 2018 flagship chipset. That alone would make Samsung probably not very pleased. The American version would be significantly ahead in this regard. However, the latest news from South Korea suggests that developers there have also achieved similar success. Apparently, phones sold outside the US will get the same high-speed modem. At least in this respect, customers around the world will not be favored in any way.

However, it is necessary to realize that owning a device with such fast transfer speeds does not mean actually using this speed. Ultimately, the providers and operators have the last word in this regard, without whose support this whole thing cannot be done. Either way, it's a very promising step into the future that suggests we may soon see equally powerful phones around the world.
