We have informed you several times recently about the record sales of the South Korean giant. However, more and more are coming to light over time informace, which explain its great success. Analysts from Strategy Analytics, for example, published statistics a few days ago, according to which Samsung became the largest supplier of smartphones in North America in the second quarter of 2017.

The data shows that the shipment of South Korean phones in the second quarter stopped at almost a whopping fourteen million smartphones shipped. Just to give you an idea, that's about a third of the total phone shipments for the North American market during this time period. The last time Samsung managed to get such numbers was in 2014, but since then it has rather fumbled with deliveries. This was probably mainly caused by the popularity of the company's iPhones Apple. However, their supply, on the other hand, fell significantly in this quarter, and "only" 10,1 million units went to the market.

Galaxy The S8 just pulls

Samsung climbed so high this quarter largely due to the solid success of its new train ships Galaxy S8 and S8+, which are selling better than expected. According to Samsung, the new flagship is selling about 15% better than its predecessor last year. To date, more than twenty million units have reportedly been sold, which is quite a solid success in about three months.

However, it is necessary to realize that Apple it lags behind Samsung in this quarter mainly because its customers are waiting for the arrival of the new iPhone 8. This is due to be released already in the fall, and if all the predictions that determine the phone's truly exceptional hardware are fulfilled, it will most likely become a phenomenon immediately after the start of sales. It is therefore logically worthwhile for Apple customers to wait a little while longer and think about whether the higher investment is really worth it, or whether they will prefer one of the "seven" models.
